My memory of what happened is not what happened. I am struck with the fact that what happened is more conventional than what I remembered.” John Cage.Composition in retrospect
Paramnesia is a memory disorder where dreams and fantasies may be confused with reality. It pertains the delusional belief that a place or location has been duplicated, existing in two or more places simultaneously, or that it has been ‘relocated’ to another site. An attempt to dive into the supervisible world of a person. In Paramnesia performer Carla Róisín Behal and scenographer Felipe Gonzáles Cabezas research into the concepts of supervisible reality and contemplation to discover where different realities and perceptions meet. Inspired by the works of Borremans, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Paramnesia sets out on a course in which minimalist classical mime and the vibrant universe of a typical 17th century tableau unveil some of the violent truths stored deep within a human psyche.
